Created in 1994, in celebration of the ten years of the Anima Sonho group, based on the travels of the puppeteer twins, Ubiratan and Tiarajú Carlos Gomes, across Latin America. There are small skits and musical numbers performed by puppets wearing gloves and direct manipulation. Stories inspired by cartoons, circus jokes, cartoons and long conversations with masters of puppetry. With an unmistakable, popular and authentic style, Bonecrônicas reaches all audiences with social criticism and lots of humor.

Anima Sonho is a reference in animation theater, being one of the Brazilian puppet theater groups that has traveled the world the most. The show Bonecrônicas debuted in 1994, when the company completed ten years. Since then, it has toured several festivals in Brazil, Latin America, Europe and Japan. The group, founded in Porto Alegre by twins Ubiratan and Tiarajú Carlos Gomes in a partnership that lasted until 2005, the year in which Tiarajú passed away. That same year, the company was invited to participate in a tribute to its late founder, at the Santiago de Compostela International Festival, with a new member, puppeteer Cacá Sena. The union of Ubiratan Carlos Gomes, one of the twins from the original formation, and Cacá Sena, a puppeteer with a family tradition in puppetry in the country, allowed the group to continue. Since then, Bira and Cacá have circulated with Bonecrônicas in all states of Brazil, in three editions of the Sesi Bonecos do Brasil e do Mundo project.
